LUXE visited the founder of Tradmans Bonsai, Teppei Kojima, to take a look at the wonderful blend of worlds he’s created: traditional Japanese bonsai and contemporary style, fashion and culture. Truly, Kojima-san excels at preserving and respecting tradition whilst transcending stereotypes.

The more I speak with those from abroad, the more I’ve come to appreciate the wonders of Japanese history and technique. Because I have a special adoration of bonsai, this allowed me to realise the gap that exists between Japanese and foreign know-how, and this led me to see that Japanese bonsai techniques need to be spread further in their proper form.
